Travel: the longest rope suspention bridge in the world

*contains unpaid advertising

You may not have guessed that the longest rope suspention bridge can be found in Germany. In fact, it can be found in the Harz, a mountain range in east Germany. We had the opportunity to cross this bridge on a sunny and warm summer day, the perfect conditions to come here.

The walk is only about 1.20 m wide, so it is advisable to go over the bridge as early or as late as possible, if you do not want to share the place with many people. Even on a Sunday noon it is possible to walk over the bridge relaxed, but you are definitely not alone. While you walk over the 483 m long bridge you will have a splendid view over the so-called Rappbodetalsperre.

Anyone who is afraid of heights should think carefully about walking over the bridge, because it is not only high, but also extremely rocking. The first steps it felt like we were drunk. In addition, there is a fairly strong wind. It is a great place to visit, especially if you travel around Harz anyway. In addition to hiking or mountainbiking this is a great travel destination.

If that's not adrenaline enough, you can still give yourself the absolute kick in "Harzdrenalin". Here you can either fly over the river on a mega-line and feel like Superman, or experience a 75 m deep pendulum jump on a Gigaswing. We have not tried both because it is really expensive with 40-150 euros.
